Flist, what would you call an essay analyzing Picasso's Guernica? I have no idea. I hate coming up with titles.

I've been reading Bleach, because the Ulquiorra/Orihime shippers on [info]ship_manifesto's polls are rather convincing. (Mmmm, sexy picspam.) I feel kind of guilty, because I feel like I have so much to catch up on in other fandoms (comics, how I both love and hate your years upon years upon years of continuity), but ... but I couldn't help it! And I can read manga faster than western comics, so it won't take too long to catch up. (Less cluttered art, less text on a page? Something like that.)

So far I like the characters, and the plots are interesting enough for a shounen manga. Orihime is my new fictional girlfriend. I love her. Her response to a school art project where you have to draw "your future self"? Herself as a robot. YEAH. THAT'S AWESOME. She's oblivious, kind of airhead sometimes, but also the second in her class! She notices things other characters don't! She's strong while being kind! A romantic fantasy about Ichigo turns into a fantasy of her winning a race against a track star! Brb, marrying her on the astral plane.

Lastly, I present you with the greatest pillow in the history of the known universe:

Look at how grumpy he is. Fufufufu. Animated series Batman always reminds that I really do like Batman after all, not just the Robins.

And why is Bruce/Jason beating Booster Gold/Blue Beetle at [info]ship_manifesto's Part III Round II Poll?! You guys. YOU GUYS THAT'S CRAZY. Boostle is funny happy angsty best friend love! Bruce/Jason is ... Bruce/Jason. I'm giving you disapproving looks, internet.

Ha, I shouldn't read movie reviews. "This film meanders mindlessly from one image to the next, as does a comic book." ಠ_ಠ? Comic books don't "meander mindlessly from one image to the next". Well, okay, some of them do. But generally speaking, they move purposefully from one image to the next. That's ... kind of their whole thing? Sequential visual storytelling? Yeah? WHATEVER, REVIEWER, WHATEVER. I DON'T LIKE YOUR COMPARISON.

Been watching Batman movies. Why can't anyone cast a convincing Bruce Wayne? Michael Keaton certainly wasn't, but I don't like Christian Bale either. At least Tim Burton's Batman doesn't put me to sleep whenever the Joker isn't there. Or make me wonder why Commissioner Gordon seems not to care about his daughter in the slightest. You and your father/son issues, Hollywood.

Of course, we all know Mask of the Phantasm is the best Batman movie, and that Batman should always sound like Kevin Conroy.

Someone pointed out to me that Batwoman is, in fact, shown wearing a sports bra under her costume. So the nipples must be part of the costume then. Well, I guess Bruce has had batnipples too.

A completely random individual just asked me for Harvest Moon help on twitter. Umm ... okay? If I was a more spiteful person, I would just reply with this.

Dropped my LCS today, got new figure I'll be picspaming later. I wanted a Xena figure, but they only had Harem Xena and I want Sins of the Past Xena. :< TO EBAY. ---/o/

I've been reading Nana, and I like it. The relationship drama isn't even exhausting me like relationship drama usually does, and there is a lot of it in this manga. (Well, it is written by Yazawa Ai.) I never actually got around to finishing Paradise Kiss, and recently I was spoiled for the reveal about Arashi and Miwako. Oh my god. Ew ew ew ew eeeewww. What the fuck, Yazawa.

Finally have a chance to post these icons! Been busy lately.

✖ 38 Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker
✖ 30 Detective Comics #854
✖ 46 Thor

This-a-way.

I've taken to occupying myself in spare class time moments by doodling angry Jason Todds in the margins of my notebooks.

My writing professor has met Bruce Campbell a few times. It totally counts in making me two degrees away from Campbell. Omg.

Just found out about that Yahtzee thing. I'm not surprised, tbh. I thought I was picking up some sexism from his jokes, but I worried I was being too sensitive about it. UH. GUESS NOT.

MSNBC, you are not so much "the place for politics" lately as you are, "the place for hours and hours and hours and hours of MJ coverage." Jesus christ.

I just recently remembered that feature in Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility that lets you track the villagers, so you can see their location in the corner of your screen at any time. (It actually names the location, like, "Waffle Square," or "Hamilton's House".) How delightfully stalkerish. I usually have it set to Gill. Oh Gill, I stalk you because I love you so much. Speaking of, recently got the blue feather. Soon, Gill, soon you will be mine. Muahahahahah– anyway.

Riveting tale of what I did on this, the day of my nation's independence: Homework. Then I played Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility for several hours & when I milked my goat, it made a moo noise. ಠ_ಠa Then played Pokemon Platinum and Super Mario RPG.

Memo to self: For god's sake, turn off the option to view 18+ pictures while browsing Pixiv. Especially when trying to search for cute Pokemon fan art. The things I have seen. I cannot un-see them. ಥ_ಥ

Flist, help a nerd out. It's been a long time since I've seen an anime I've truly enjoyed. Any recommendations? Preferably not shoujo, unless it's really really great shoujo (frex, Princess Tutu).

And if any of you have ever read any Star Wars EU, recommendations for that would be good too. Idk Star Wars is on TV, suddenly I'm in the mood for it. Maybe I'll just find some Leia fic.

Oh, and also I made a Clint/Steve icon.

I may play my copy of Crystal to ease the longing. If it still works. I haven't touched it in years. Memories. Let me accurately describe my excitement:

I think that about sums it up.

Had an appointment with a therapist on Tuesday. She was nice, and obviously very competent. I'm going to keep seeing her. I felt emotionally exhausted after the appointment, but better than I have in a while. Monday I'm getting some meds. Cheers to mental health.

Classes are going well so far (uh, it's only been three days). Both my professors seem great, and I'm enjoying my Spanish class, even though I originally didn't want to take it. (I wanted something closer to Swedish, but I knew that there was no way the Spanish classes would be canceled on me, unlike the others. And hey, Spanish is useful.) Both classes use an online component pretty heavily, which is fine by me. Less paper, right?

My writing professor says that our final paper can be on nearly anything. I'm hoping I can write about comic books. Hey, write what you know.

Am I buying any comics today? I'm trade-waiting War of Kings ... Oh wait, Green Lantern Corps and Exiles. Yay! /forgetful

Dear Everyone:

Spider-Man has a hyphen in it, you guys, seriously. And you, Marvel fandom, you should know better.

Yours,
Kitty ❀

So, my Spanish class is actually located in a music room. I'm not familiar with that part of the campus (and didn't think a Spanish class would be there anyway), so I spend a solid chunk of time wandering around futilely looking for my class.

Also my Kindle's screen died and I lost one of my favorite Star Trek pins and my locket keeps opening and the frame things keep trying to fall out. Other than that the day has been all right, but I'm in a shoddy mood anyway. Just exasperated, I guess.

It's sad how I spend all weekend thinking, "I wish Keith Olbermann was on right now. :(" Due to my evening writing class I am going to MISS HIM. Nooooo. I need a TiVo.

This song references Shelton, WA. Of all the places in Washington to namecheck. (Not that I have have anything against Shelton. I mean, it's better than Forks, amirite?)

I had the most disturbing dream last night. The I-will-never-sleep-again-in-case-it-comes-back kind of disturbing.

I am so behind on Star Trek fandom right now. Just looking at my Trek filter makes my eyes glaze over. I gotta say, though, I'm loving the variety.

Or really, playlist angst, since I'm not planning to share it. Anyway, I am trying to make a playlist for Wanda, and I have realized the following things:

1. For someone who doesn't ship Wanda/Pietro, I sure have enough songs that could go that way. Fffff those two.

2. I have a lot of songs for Wanda's crazy tiems, but I don't want them. :| I want songs for her Avengers glory days, or Wanda/Vision songs, or even songs about her past bad spots or general problems. It's easier to find songs that fit Disassembled/House of M, though, 'cause I guess sad songs are easier to find. Uhg.

My ear keeps plugging up. It's very annoying, and maybe a little worrying. Last time it did this it lasted for almost a week. Do you know what it's like to go a whole week with a plugged ear? Hopefully it'll clear up.

So, Michael Jackson. It's a weird feeling because his later years were ... his later years, but when I was young, I used to listen to his music to cheer myself up. It meant a lot to me back then. But just because the music was a comfort to us, or a great contribution to society, and we're all in mourning about that, that doesn't mean we should be sweeping things under the rug or getting caught up in illusions about him either.

On the whole, I'm not sure how to feel about it. Vaguely uncomfortable? I've settled for putting Billie Jean on repeat.

My LCS is having Greg Rucka in for a signing. What should I have him sign? The Hikieta, perhaps? They're also having a sell around then, to celebrate their 16th anniversary. 10%-90% off throughout the whole store. I've been meaning to check their Heroclix selection.

The owner of the place is actually married to a comic writer, but I can never remember which one.

I don't buy or regularly read X-Factor, so I only found out about this yesterday but, AW YISSSS IT'S CANON NOW MOTHERFUCKERS. It better not take this long for Billy and Teddy to kiss. >:|

I got this shirt today. Usually I don't go in for shirts that have obnoxious, patronizing slogans like, "Girls Rule!" on them, but a shirt that has Wanda, Sue, Jean, and Patsy on it? I couldn't say no.

Thought about trying to answer last Friday's [info]fannish5 ("Name 5 characters who'd be most pleased if they ever got the opportunity to see what fandom is writing about them. (and the 5 characters who'd be most shocked ;)"), but I'm not sure about characters who would be pleased. Jack Harkness, definitely. Kirk, maybe. Captain America would be shocked for sure. I can clearly see Spock stoically raising an eyebrow.

I'm scared of what Marvel is going to do to MJ when they bring her back. Runaway, Mary Jane. Runaway and find the real Peter. Speaking of MJ, I recently snagged that Barbie off eBay. The one of her in her wedding dress. <3

I got a package today, which I'd been waiting for. Marvel Legends Icons series Beast, labcoat variant. It is so. very. awesome. And may have converted my dad into an X-Men fan?

I've just been wasting time on this GL/GA/Flash pairing generator. Carol Ferris/Jay Garrick, Piper/Kyle Rayner, Piper/John Stewart, Mogo/Jay Garrick ... I am highly entertained. *refreshes again* *chokes* Mary West/Ganthet.

But the best, most hilarious, most perfect pairing it have me?

Oliver Queen/Oliver Queen. OTP forever.

List 10 of your favorite characters from different fandoms, and ask people to spot patterns in your choices, and if they're so inclined, to draw conclusions about you based on the patterns they've spotted.

1. Scarlet Witch/Wanda Maximoff (Marvel->Avengers)
2. Booster Gold/Michael Carter (DC->Booster Gold/JLI)
3. Jadzia Dax (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine)
4. James T. Kirk (Star Trek: The Original Series)
5. Dan Rydell (Sports Night)
6. Raymond Vecchio (Due South)
7. Xena (Xena: Warrior Princess)
8. Watanuki Kimihiro (xxxHolic)
9. Phoenix/Jean Grey (Marvel->X-Men)
10. Sailor Venus/Aino Minako (Sailor Moon)

I wanted to put Sakaguchi Alice (from Please Save My Earth) up there as #10, but I think Sailor V is more recognizable. I don't know how many of you even know who Alice is.

1. The cover for the annual. So pretty. Mmmcape.

2. The cover of Mighty Avengers #29. Gorgeous. While I want the real Wanda back (eventually), and I'm not crazy about Slott's Avengers (writing Stature: you're doing it wrong), I do actually like Loki masquerading as Wanda. It's just so deliciously evil somehow. Tell you what, I am going to miss Fem!Loki. Every time I see her I go into GQMF mode: "Look at this fierce bitch. He'll even steal Sif's body and impersonate the Scarlet Witch if he wants to, goddamn."

I do hope they find out it's Loki in this issue or shortly after, though. I keep making these frowny, "no! no it's not really Wanda, don't you understaaannnd!" faces at the page.

And oh man, Clint. What happened to Clint and Wanda's relationship is probably one of the most painful parts of the whole Disassembled/House of M clusterfuck for me. I loved them so.

Maybe if I read that Loki mini it may ease my longing for moar Thor. It looks good, anyway.
